Job summary

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Manager, Recruitment and Employee Experience, with functional guidance from Recruitment and Retention Consultants, the HR and Onboarding Assistant provides organizational support to the HR team. This role acts as the primary contact for internal and external clients, ensuring professional and courteous interactions. Responsibilities include responding to inquiries, maintaining employee files, updating databases, assisting with recruitment, facilitating onboarding, and HR reporting. The role requires confidentiality, efficiency, accountability, and flexibility.

Hours of Work

Monday to Friday, 8:00 am – 4:00 pm or 8:30 am – 4:30 pm. Hybrid work arrangements are available.

Your Qualifications
  • Post-secondary degree or Certificate in Human Resources, or equivalent experience.
  • Membership in HR associations is preferred.
  • 1-2 years of HR experience, preferably in a complex, multi-union environment.
  • Knowledge of collective agreements, employment laws, visa requirements, and privacy legislation.
  • Understanding of recruitment and onboarding processes.
  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and HR information systems (preferably MAP/SAP).
  • Additional language skills are an asset.
