Job Description

Reporting to the Meat Manager, the Assistant Meat Manager is responsible for assisting with the overall operation of the Meat department. Responsibilities include managing sales, gross margin, and other expense control, department standards, ordering and inventory control, customer service, administrative duties, and department production and merchandising.

Qualifications
  • Candidates must possess a retail meat cutting certificate from a recognized institution or equivalent knowledge and experience, with a minimum of one year of meat cutting experience.
  • Must have 1-2 years of progressively responsible supervisory or management experience in a retail or similar environment.
  • Must be strongly service-oriented, motivated, and capable of assisting customers courteously and efficiently.
  • Well organized with the ability to attain a high level of production.
  • High level of integrity and work ethic.
  • Ability to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times.
  • Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills.
  • Ability to adapt to new technology.
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
  • High flexibility and strong interpersonal skills for working effectively in diverse environments.
  • Ability to respond quickly in a dynamic and changing environment.
