Job summary

Sportchek in Scarborough, ON is seeking an Assistant Manager for Sheppard Ave E. You will lead a team, drive sales, mentor staff, and recruit/store performance. You will communicate clearly, run effective huddles, and ensure customer experience excellence.

The role requires retail leadership, ability to develop schedules, manage inventory, and support store operations, with flexible hours including evenings and weekends. Automotive enthusiasm or related experience is considered an asset.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in a retail environment with 12–24 months in a leadership role.
• Fundamental computer skills are an asset.
• Passion for automotive or automotive enthusiasts is listed as a descriptor in the ad.

Responsibilities

• Motivate team and drive performance through recognition programs and store contests.
• Mentor teams and lead recruitment and hiring strategy for the store.
• Execute and supervise store operations including scheduling, merchandising, shipping/receiving, and LP/audit compliance.
