To support our expanding client base, Pinnacle is seeking candidates for an Assistant Manager position to join our Private Equity Team.

Job description

As an Assistant Manager, you will manage a portfolio of private equity funds, including conducting initial reviews of lower-risk NAVs and preparing NAVs for larger, more complex clients. You will work with close-ended funds specializing in private equity, private debt, real estate, and venture capital.

We seek proactive team players with a strong work ethic. Candidates with prior experience in Fund Administration or the fund industry will find this role especially appealing, as it offers significant opportunities for career advancement and professional development.

Responsibilities

  1. Assist in managing a portfolio of client relationships.
  2. Review net asset valuations performed by fund accountants prior to client and investor release, including:
  • Capital activity such as capital calls and distributions
  • General ledger review
  • Cash activity and reconciliations
  • Income and expenses, including management and performance fees, ensuring compliance with accounting standards
  • Investor statements and contract notes

Prepare net asset valuation files for larger clients for management review. Review and prepare financial statements for complex clients. Manage year-end audits and tax reporting, coordinating with clients and auditors to meet deadlines. Coach and train junior staff. Effectively manage workload and deadlines. Respond to client queries promptly and professionally. Prioritize multiple requests and escalate issues when necessary. Coordinate with internal teams (e.g., Tax, Investor Services) to meet client needs. Ensure all processes align with Pinnacle’s policies and maintain a strong control environment.

Desired skills and experience

  • At least 2-3 years of fund accounting experience.
  • Knowledge of closed-ended funds preferred but not required.
  • Accounting designation desired but not required.
  • Strong understanding of accounting concepts.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple demands and adapt to change.
  • Effective time management skills.
  • Experience with PFS-Paxus is a plus but not required.
