Job Summary

The Assistant Manager, Guest Experience plays a vital role in store leadership, ensuring a high-quality experience for team members and guests daily. They lead from the floor, build and develop teams, and create a culture where everyone feels a sense of belonging and growth. They ensure the team delivers exceptional guest experiences aligned with company values and directives.

Core Responsibilities
Leadership and People Management
  • Create an inclusive, respectful team environment that celebrates differences and promotes a supportive, productive, and fun atmosphere.
  • Engage team members by clarifying how their work contributes to store and company success.
  • Implement and cascade the Store Manager’s vision for the team.
  • Support hiring and team building to ensure diversity and drive performance.
  • Foster ongoing learning and development through coaching, feedback, and mentoring.
  • Lead performance management activities, recognize achievements, and address issues appropriately.
  • Handle employee concerns, partnering with support teams when necessary.
Guest Experience and Community
  • Lead an exceptional guest experience through connection and product education, providing coaching to team members.
  • Make in-the-moment decisions to maintain effective store operations.
  • Address guest feedback and resolve issues promptly to ensure satisfaction.
Operations, Product, and Strategy
  • Collaborate on business data analysis to inform planning and strategy.
  • Maintain visual merchandising standards, including restocking and minor adjustments.
  • Open and close the store following procedures.
  • Adhere to safety policies and legal requirements.
Budget Responsibility
  • Manage aspects of the store’s controllable budget and labor hours.
People Management
  • Directly oversee a subset of store employees as delegated by the Store Manager.
Qualifications
  • Legally authorized to work in the store’s location.
  • Reliable transportation to the store.
  • Minimum 1 year of people management and leadership experience.
Preferred Assets
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Retail or sales management experience.
  • Experience in recruiting, hiring, or training staff.
Work Environment
  • Bright, lively environment with music.
  • Team-oriented and independent work components.
  • Conflict management and guest issue resolution skills required.
  • Physical movement within the store, lifting up to 30 lbs, and occasional sitting.
Compensation & Benefits

Base pay: $25.77 - $34.87/hr, with a target bonus of 25%. Total range: $32.21 - $43.59/hr. Includes health, dental, mental health plans, paid time off, retirement matching, employee discounts, wellness programs, development courses, and more. Eligibility for benefits varies by role and location.
