Job Summary

An assistant manager at Base Camp is essentially a store manager in training and will, under the direction of the store manager and company leadership, learn many of the tasks and responsibilities that the store manager performs. The assistant supports the store manager in daily operations and fills in for the store manager in their absence, fulfilling the duties outlined in the store manager job description.

Duties
  • Exhibits excellence in customer service, greeting and thanking customers, and resolving concerns.
  • Report to work on time, neatly groomed, and in uniform.
  • Enter all sales in the Passport system at the time of sale.
  • Brew coffee, prepare and stock beverages and supplies.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the interior, including restrooms.
  • Check-in vendor deliveries, ensuring all products invoiced are received.
  • Complete and submit daily paperwork.
  • Prepare and make daily deposits, especially on weekends or when covering the store manager.
  • Restock, face, and clean shelves and coolers, verifying no out-of-date merchandise exists.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the exterior, fuel pumps, and parking lot.
  • Conduct daily site walks to improve site image and monitor for hazards.
  • Prepare and stock fast food items, learning hot and cold requirements.
  • Attend store team meetings, sharing concerns and ideas.
  • Be flexible with shifts, including rotating and extra hours in emergencies.
  • Follow and enforce all company policies.
  • Prioritize safety and security, reporting incidents immediately.
  • Treat customers, co-workers, and vendors respectfully.
  • Assist in coaching and developing employees.
  • Ensure company programs are executed timely.
  • Assist with sales floor presentation.
  • May be responsible for ordering and inventory tasks.
  • Maintain a positive attitude.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications
  • Must be 19+ to sell alcohol.
  • At least 3 months experience in customer service or retail.
  • Background check required.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Problem-solving abilities.
  • Computer experience preferred.
  • Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds; frequent lifting up to 25 pounds.
  • Physically fit to stand during shifts.
  • Ability to operate Passport cash register and handle change.
