The Assistant Manager is responsible for assisting the senior management team with various tasks and overseeing the daily operations of the store. These include staff scheduling, supervising employees, ensuring customer satisfaction, resolving conflicts, maintaining the store, and ensuring compliance with policies, programs, and regulations. This role aims to prepare the candidate for a senior manager position within the Healthy Planet family.

Job Duties

  1. Assist store manager with employee recruitment, training, and development.
  2. Provide guidance and instruction to store associates.
  3. Support sales goals and promotional strategies.
  4. Maintain store standards and compliance.
  5. Create staff schedules.
  6. Maintain visual standards and merchandising strategies.
  7. Handle customer complaints and resolve conflicts.
  8. Manage inventory levels, stock, and loss prevention.
  9. Conduct inventory audits.
  10. Manage inventory through the 'Just In Time' system.
  11. Build relationships with customers and vendors.
  12. Prepare bank deposits and assist cashiers.
  13. Create and analyze retail reports.
  14. Participate in coaching and evaluations.
  15. Oversee daily store operations including opening and closing.
  16. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  1. Proven experience as a retail assistant manager or similar role.
  2. Experience in Health Food Store or related fields.
  3. Ability to work under pressure and handle challenging situations.
  4. Knowledge of retail and wholesale sales principles.
