Planet Fitness, a private equity-backed fitness retailer, is seeking candidates for the role of Assistant Manager. The Assistant Manager will oversee various areas within Planet Fitness, primarily managing front desk personnel, assisting the General Manager, and focusing on front-of-house operations to ensure effective daily activities. The Assistant Manager must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, meet strict deadlines, delegate effectively, communicate with management, and provide superior customer service to members and guests.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Understand and drive club metrics in alignment with business performance.
- Develop thorough knowledge of club services, programs, products, and key competitors.
- Assist in the interviewing and recruitment process, including initial phone interviews for front desk and fitness instructors.
- Monitor inventory and review sales data with GM to identify opportunities and improve performance.
- Uphold company standards and lead by example in delivering the organization's mission, vision, and values; maintain a clean, friendly, and well-maintained club.
- Ensure team members adhere to punctuality, dress code, friendliness, and cleanliness standards.
- Develop cleaning duties for front desk and oversee overnight employees.
- Coordinate disciplinary actions and terminations with the GM, Regional Manager, and HR.
- Cover shifts for employees when needed and assist with shift coverage in the absence of the Club Manager.
- Oversee club audits to ensure cleanliness, organization, and maintenance of the facility.
- Mentor front-end employees to promote career growth through training and performance assessments.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Club Manager.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.

Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree preferred.
- 6 months supervisory or managerial experience in a high-volume restaurant or retail environment; 1 year preferred.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
- Bi-lingual skills preferred.
Hours
Initial training hours may vary. Availability should be discussed with the Hiring Manager and noted on the application. Typical hours include weekdays from 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm, with weekends off or Sunday shifts from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm or 11:00 am to 7:00 pm, depending on club needs.
