Job summary

Badger Infrastructure Solutions in Canada is seeking an Assistant Operator to support the operation of hydro-excavation equipment. You will assist with equipment setup, site preparation, and ensure safety compliance on demanding infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Hydrovac, trucking, vacuum truck or related industrial experience preferred.
• Valid Driver’s License with acceptable driving record.
• CSO safety card certification required; Badger will pay for online training if not held.
• Ability to work variable shifts with extended hours.
• Must hear emergency signals and instructions while on duty.
• Able to repetitively sit, lift, stoop, bend, squat, kneel, reach and crawl.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.

The Assistant Operator supports the operation of specialized industrial equipment, assisting in tasks like equipment setup, site preparation, and hydro-excavation. This role ensures safety compliance while contributing to infrastructure maintenance and excavation projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Requires travel to assigned job location/assignment.
• Operates the on-board hydro-vacuum system outside the truck and performs other duties such as clean-up, mobilization, and general maintenance of the equipment.
• Communicates effectively and professionally and demonstrates a strong customer service focus in all interactions.
• Troubleshoots minor mechanical issues and performs minor repairs to equipment as needed.
• Attends safety meetings and ensures all tasks are always completed in a safe and professional manner.

QUALIFICATIONS

What You'll Need For Success:

• Educational high school diploma or GED.
• Previous hydrovac, trucking, vacuum truck or other related industrial experience preferred.
• Must have a valid Driver’s License and an acceptable driving record.
• CSO safety card certification is required. (If applicant does not hold this certification, Badger will pay for computer-based training with applicant completing on-line course within 5 days of hiring. Certification is the property of the applicant.)
• Capable of working variable shifts with extended hours.
• Must be able to hear and distinguish emergency signals and instructions while on duty.
• Must be able to repetitively sit, lift, stoop, bend, squat, kneel, reach, and crawl.
• Must be able to repeatedly lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
• Must be able to work in all outdoor elements for extended periods of time.
