At Andrew Peller Limited (APL), our mission is to be Canada’s #1 branded wine and craft beverage company by delivering the perfect brand experience for every lifestyle and occasion. Through our commitment to excellence, honoring our roots, owning it, fostering belonging, and driving to succeed, we inspire teammates to be extraordinary every day.

Who We Are

We are one of Canada's largest and oldest wine companies with a rich heritage in quality winemaking. We produce some of Canada's most recognized brands and offer our teammates a challenging and rewarding employment experience.

We are seeking a customer-focused, detail-oriented, and dedicated Assistant Restaurant Manager to join our Peller Estates Front of House (FOH) leadership team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the daily service delivery of all Food and Beverage operations on property, ensuring high-quality dining experiences. This is a year-round, full-time position with benefits.

The role includes overseeing main dining rooms, outdoor patios/grills, group functions, and events both onsite and offsite. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, personable, with a proven track record in coaching and supervising high-performance teams. Availability to work evenings, weekdays, and weekends is required. The role is split approximately 60% customer and team focus, and 40% administrative.

The successful candidate will be accountable for:

  1. Supporting the execution of business strategies to meet or exceed financial objectives, including Wine Club sales.
  2. Providing daily leadership to the FOH team, including opening and closing duties, leading pre-shift meetings, managing menus and functions, motivating staff, coaching for performance and service excellence, onboarding new team members, ensuring compliance with standards and policies, managing payroll accuracy, and responding to guest concerns.
  3. Maximizing revenue per guest through up-selling and comprehensive knowledge of menu options, property wines, accessories, experiences, Wine Club memberships, and events.
  4. Ensuring a safe and healthy work environment by managing the Health and Safety program and compliance with regulations.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Post-secondary education in Hospitality or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years supervisory experience in an upscale restaurant environment.
  • Graduate or current enrollment in an internationally recognized Sommelier or WSET program (asset).
  • Proven leadership and coaching skills for high team performance.
  • Self-motivated, able to multitask and prioritize in a busy environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to exercise judgment and work independently.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekdays, and weekends.

We are conducting both internal and external searches. We thank all applicants; only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
