Job summary

Glen Abbey Golf Club in Oakville, Ontario is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to help manage and maintain all aspects of the golf course and surrounding grounds, working with an energetic ClubLink management team.

The successful applicant will have a minimum of 2 years formal turf management education (degree or diploma) and a valid Ontario Landscape Exterminators Licence, with flexible daily hours and a commitment to safety and IPM practices.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years formal education or degree/diploma in turf management.
• Ontario Landscape Exterminators Licence required.
• Organized and energetic approach to responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Recommend daily course condition to the Superintendent.
• Work within ClubLink policy at all levels.
• Enforce all Golf Course Maintenance and Safety manuals.
• Assume management role when the Superintendent is away.
• Help train staff on machinery and safety procedures.
• Maintain buildings, equipment and grounds professionally.
• Contribute to pesticide and fertilizer IPM practices.
• Apply irrigation system knowledge and repairs as needed.

Glen Abbey Golf Club is Hiring an Assistant Superintendent!

This is an ideal position for those who are looking to engage themselves within the Turf Management Industry while working alongside an energetic management team dedicated to excellence and success. In thisrole, you will assist in the management and maintenance of all aspects of the golf course and surrounding grounds.

Daily Responsibilities:

• Makes recommendations to the Superintendent on the daily condition of the golf course.
• Work within ClubLink's team policy both internally and at the management level.
• Practice and enforce all aspects of ClubLink's Golf Course Maintenance and Health & Safety Policy Manuals.
• Assume a management role should the Superintendent be off-site or in meetings.
• Help train staff on all machinery, including safety procedures.
• Maintain buildings, equipment, and property in a professional manner.
• Regularly and accurately contribute to Superintendent's pesticide and fertilizer management practices stressing IPM.
• Working knowledge of irrigation systems, automated controls, and repairs.

The Successful Applicant will:

• Possess a minimum of 2 years formal education, or degree or diploma in turfmanagement.
• Is available for work every day at discretionary hours.
• Approach responsibilities in an organized and energetic manner.
• Possess a valid Ontario Landscape Exterminators Licence.
