Job summary

Lush North America is hiring an Assistant Store Manager in Canada. The ASM supports the Shop Manager to ensure a strong customer and staff experience, operational excellence, and sales performance.

Responsibilities include leading on the sales floor, educating staff on brand values, growing talent, and recruiting support while maintaining a dynamic, inclusive store environment.

Responsibilities

• Customer Service: exceed daily sales goals and create an inclusive customer experience.
• Building the Brand: educate customers and staff on brand values and position on Fighting Animal Testing, Freshest Cosmetics, Ethical Buying, 100% Vegetarian, Handmade, and Naked Packaging.
• Product Passion: deepen product knowledge and make informed recommendations.
• Driving Sales: understand metrics, budgets, and reports and influence them through actions on the floor.
• Lead Fearlessly: support your team on the sales floor, solve problems, and motivate to meet goals.
• Grow Talent: focus on your development, seek feedback, coach and elevate skills, and support team growth.

The ASM supports the Shop Manager as needed in all business areas and may take on Manager duties to ensure a strong customer experience, staff experience, shop operational excellence, and sales performance.

Operational Excellence

• Policies and Procedures: support managers to maintain opening/closing standards, product integrity, respectful workplace, health and safety, and daily communication. Stock and Inventory: train the inventory team to follow stock standards and rotation, manage ordering within budget.
• Visuals and Merchandising: maintain a clean and appealing environment and follow merchandising standards to drive sales.
• Scheduling, Time and Attendance: ensure appropriate staffing levels at peak times, allocate breaks, and maintain payroll accuracy.

Qualifications

Required:

• 1–3 years managing or supervising in a retail environment
• Excellent listening and communication skills
• Analytical, critical thinking, and troubleshooting skills
• Excellent organization and time management
• Strong customer service, supervisory, and sales skills
• Knowledge and interest in skincare, natural beauty, and ethical business
• Ability to work flexible hours including holidays, evenings, and weekends

Preferred:

• Experience with consultation-based customer service models
• Ability to train staff through positive coaching and feedback
• Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office; adaptable to other systems
• Basic HR skills in hiring, scheduling, training, and performance management
• Experience in cross-cultural collaboration and DEIB or social justice training
• Fluency in Spanish, French, or other languages
