Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment Partnership operates Real Sports Bar & Grill, a premier sports-dining destination in downtown Toronto. As Assistant General Manager, you’ll partner with the General Manager and Executive Chef to drive performance, develop talent and deliver best-in-class hospitality in a fast-paced, high-profile environment.

You will lead across restaurant, bar, events and guest services, ensuring premium service and strong budget, safety and operational standards while growing

Qualifications

• 3+ years of leadership experience in a high-volume restaurant or hospitality.
• Proven ability to lead large teams and develop managers.
• Experience managing budgets, labour, and cost controls.
• Post-secondary education in Hospitality or Business.
• Certifications (Smart Serve, WHMIS) and knowledge of food, wine and spirits.

Assistant General Manager – Real Sports Bar & Grill

Located in the heart of Maple Leaf Square, Real Sports Bar & Grill is one of Canada’s premier high-volume, premium sports dining destinations. As Assistant General Manager, you are the operational leader behind the experience - partnering with the General Manager and Executive Chef to drive performance, develop talent, and deliver best-in-class hospitality in a fast-paced, high-profile environment.

Responsibilities

• Leadership & Culture – Lead, coach and develop a team of managers across restaurant, bar, events and guest services; build a high-performance, guest‑first culture aligned with MLSE’s values; inspire and mentor future leaders, creating clear development pathways; champion a “one team” environment across all departments and partners.
• Operations Excellence – Oversee daily operations across all business areas including dining room, bar, events, suites, retail and guest experience; ensure consistent delivery of premium service standards in a high‑volume environment; partner with culinary leadership to execute a best‑in‑class food and beverage program; maintain excellence in safety, compliance, and operational standards.
• Business Performance – Drive revenue growth, profitability, and cost control across all areas of the business; support development and execution of annual business plans and budgets; monitor KPIs including sales, labour, inventory, and guest satisfaction metrics; identify opportunities to enhance programming, events, and guest engagement.
• Cross‑Functional Collaboration – Partner with Marketing, Global Partnerships and Live Entertainment to execute events and activations; work closely with Finance, HR and IT to support operational success; build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, partners and key stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of leadership experience in a high‑volume restaurant, premium casual, or hospitality‑driven environment.
• Proven ability to lead large teams and develop high‑performing managers.
• Strong business acumen with experience managing budgets, labour and cost controls.
• A passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional guest experiences.
• High level of professionalism, integrity and accountability.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment with multiple priorities.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Assets: Experience in upscale or premium casual dining.
• Post‑secondary education in Hospitality or Business.
• Certifications (Smart Serve, WHMIS, etc.) and strong knowledge of food, wine, beer and spirits.

Compensation

Base salary: $74,000 - $77,000 annual. Bonus, vacation, competitive benefits, and many exciting perks are included.
