CARE Canada is looking for an Assistant Financial Services Manager

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Assistant Financial Services Manager is a member of the Corporate Finance team. Reporting to the Manager, Financial Services, the Assistant Financial Services Manager is instrumental in ensuring that financial records are accurate and compliant. The Assistant Financial Services Manager is responsible for managing the CARE Cuba file and assisting the Financial Services Manager in preparing accurate and timely financial statements and other reports. The Assistant Financial Services Manager contributes to a timely month-end close and participates in the Financial Statement Audit process. The Assistant Financial Services Manager also acts as a backup for the Financial Services Manager and other members of the Corporate Finance Team.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Post-secondary diploma, degree, or certification in finance/commerce/administration
  • Highly skilled in both written and verbal Spanish communication.
  • Minimum five years' work experience in day-to-day operational finance.
  • Understanding of Accounting Principles
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize
  • Strong ability to meet deadlines.
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Strong customer service and creative problem-solving skills with an ability to analyze, conceptualize and collaborate as part of a team.
  • Ability to evaluate processes and propose recommendations, familiarity with internal controls.
  • Experience preparing procedure manuals for use by financial and non-financial users
  • High level of professionalism including strict adherence to confidentiality.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Superior interpersonal skills, with a preference for working as part of a team for a diverse group of individuals with competing priorities.
  • Strong computer skills in word processing and spreadsheet applications, including data manipulation; proficiency with MS Outlook, MS Word, and MS Excel, as well as a demonstrated ability to learn computer software programs.

WHAT WOULD MAKE YOU EXTRAORDINARY

  • Experience using Concur and/or PeopleSoft is desired
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Spanish strongly preferred

REQUIREMENTS
