Job description

Our client in the manufacturing sector is seeking an Assistant Plant Finance Controller to support financial management activities at the plant level, ensuring accurate accounting practices, effective cost tracking, and timely financial reporting.

Location: Belleville, on site

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily accounting operations including maintaining the chart of accounts and managing general ledger activities.
  • Lead and coordinate month-end closing processes.
  • Perform weekly/monthly scrap and efficiency reporting, along with inventory reconciliations.
  • Manage weekly expense tracking and forecasting; support accounts payable and receivable forecasting.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with all levels of plant and corporate management regarding financial performance.
  • Support audit processes and ensure compliance with internal controls and financial standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in the automotive manufacturing industry.
  • University degree in Finance, Business Administration, Commerce, or a related field (required).
  • CPA designation or near completion (required).
  • Supervisory or leadership experience is considered an asset.
  • Solid understanding of general accounting principles and reconciliation processes.
