Assistant Financial Controller

Purpose

As the Assistant Financial Controller, you will be an essential member of the Accor Strata Hub team, playing a key role in accounting, reporting and business partnering for a number of properties within the Accor Apartments & Realty Strata hub portfolio. In addition, the role will provide management, support and development for a number of finance team members.

This position is ideal for a highly competent Assistant Financial Controller or Management Accountant that is seeking to work in a dynamic environment whilst advancing their career. This position is based in Melbourne.

Primary Responsibilities

• Business partner with property General Managers to provide financial guidance and facilitate overall financial growth.
• Annual Budgeting and periodic forecasting.
• Implementation and effective management of risk controls.
• Manage, support and develop a tight-knit finance team.
• Coordinate the monthly P&L preparation, review and variance analysis.
• Prepare, communicate and review monthly/annual forecasts and budgets.
• Prepare, review and manage balance sheets.
• Provide coaching and functional guidance to the department heads.

Skills and Experience

• A minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role.
• Tertiary qualifications in Accounting and/or Finance or Commerce.
• CA or CPA qualifications is a plus.
• Proven track record and strong understanding of management accounting.
• Strong leadership in addition to attention to detail, accuracy and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills across a wide range of stakeholders.
• Ability to work under pressure within tight time frames.
