Qualifications

Job description

Overview

The Assistant Food & Beverage Manager plays a critical role in the success of the River Cree Resort & Casino. The primary responsibility is to assist the Beverage Manager in overseeing all aspects of the F&B operations at the resort.

Reporting directly to the Beverage Manager, the Assistant F&B Manager manages daily departmental operations, including inventory ordering, controls, budgeting, and cash handling at various beverage outlets. The role involves direct interaction with guests, staff, and management, employing a hands-on management approach and escalating issues when necessary.

Responsibilities
  • Promote high-quality customer service and positive employee relations through exemplary leadership.
  • Manage scheduling, payroll, disciplinary actions, training, and mentoring for the F&B staff.
  • Complete opening and closing procedures for daily operations.
  • Input minimal information into CASS and ensure associates adhere to policies on absenteeism and appearance standards.
  • Conduct daily stand-ups and communicate upcoming events to the next shift supervisor.
  • Collaborate with Marketing & Advertising to promote beverage outlets.
  • Create and implement departmental policies and procedures.
  • Understand and adhere to security, safety, and sanitation standards.
  • Coordinate and evaluate daily operations, applying asset management, budgeting, and cost control skills.
  • Assist with ongoing events and other duties as assigned.
  • Ensure workplace safety and compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Use a hands-on management approach.
Qualifications
  • 3-4 years of experience in the Food & Beverage industry.
  • 1-2 years of management experience in F&B or nightlife industries.
  • Experience in a casino setting is preferred.
  • Proserve/Protect certification from AGLC is preferred.
  • Post-secondary education in a related field is a plus.
  • Training in management and employee development is advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Extensive knowledge of food and beverage operations, particularly in a casino environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

The position requires flexibility to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
