The Village of Sandalwood Park, located in Brampton, Ontario, has an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Director of Nursing Care (RN) – Skin, Wound & Continence Lead to join their team.

Shift Details: Permanent Full-time, 75 hours bi-weekly.

As our new Assistant Director of Nursing Care, you will:

  • Lead skin, wound, and continence care initiatives as a dedicated resource and mentor for village team members, championing excellence in clinical practices related to skin integrity, wound prevention/treatment, and continence management.
  • Support and embrace our resident-centered social culture and deliver the highest quality of clinical care to our residents.
  • Work as a key member of our leadership team to support our self-directed nursing and clinical team members in implementing clinical programs and achieving quality outcomes focused on flexible living and quality of life.
  • Support clinical and nursing teams in HR functions, track and analyze trends, drive quality assurance initiatives, and participate in village-wide committees and working groups.
  • Provide clinical leadership and guidance to multidisciplinary teams, advocate for residents’ participation in care decisions, and provide training and education to the clinical team.
  • Manage inventory and supplies, foster relationships with residents, families, and the team, and deliver holistic care and specialized clinical services.

As a new Assistant Director of Nursing Care joining our Village Team, you will:

  • Possess a current registration as a Registered Nurse (RN) with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Hold current Heart Save Level of CPR certification.
  • Have at least three (3) years of experience leading and directing departments in a healthcare setting.
  • Be excited by our objectives, village philosophy, and family values.
  • Display a caring and respectful attitude toward residents, families, and team members.
  • Understand the physical, mental, and emotional demands of the role.

It would be an asset, but not required, if our new team member has:

  • Experience in a long-term care or retirement home setting.
  • RNAO / RPNAO membership.
  • MDS credentialing (optional, depending on village size).
  • An awareness of infection control practices, WHMIS, and health and safety procedures.
  • Skill in operating common hand and power tools.
