The Opportunity

The Assistant Director of Care in our Long-Term Care residence works collaboratively with the senior management team to:

  1. Plan, organize, direct, and coordinate resident care activities within approved policies and procedures.
  2. Oversee onboarding and annual staff education, staff health and safety, and infection prevention and control programs.
What Is In It For You
  • Ensure residents’ care is evaluated continuously.
  • Work closely with the Registered Staff team and the RAI-MDS Coordinator to ensure proper documentation and regulatory compliance.
  • Review and audit Point Click Care documentation, including progress notes, care plans, and resident assessments.
  • Develop, update, review, and ensure consistent implementation of care plans.
  • Audit resident care plans quarterly to ensure documentation reflects care requirements accurately.
  • Respond to resident or family concerns and take appropriate action or escalate as necessary.
What You Will Need
  • A solid knowledge base in geriatric, rehabilitation, or long-term care nursing, including activation, nursing, and personnel administration.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation such as The Nursing Homes Act and Regulations, Homes for Special Care Act, and others affecting residence operations and nursing departments.
  • Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Postgraduate studies in nursing, nursing administration, or geriatrics are considered assets.
