Reporting to the Assistant Secretary Treasurer, the Assistant Director, Finance & Corporate Services plays a pivotal leadership role within the District. This posting pertains to one of two Assistant Director roles, each with distinct areas of focus. While one position oversees Accounting and Financial Reporting, as well as Capital and Financial Services, this position focuses on Budgeting, Forecasting and associated Financial Reporting, including but not limited to the following key duties:
The ideal candidate will hold a degree from a post-secondary business program and possess a professional CPA designation. In addition, they should have at least ten years of progressive experience in a complex, unionized environment, demonstrating leadership in financial administration, including a minimum of five years of supervisory experience, preferably within a large public sector organization. Key aspects of this position include the ability to plan, organize and implement strategic solutions to financial and operational challenges, as well as the ability to supervise and mentor staff effectively. Essential qualifications also include knowledge of labour relations, collective agreements, strong interpersonal skills, and proficiency in organizational, written and public relation skills.

The annual salary range for this position is $105,020 - $131,274 and is complimented with a generous benefits package including Municipal Pension Plan. The successful applicant will be required to successfully complete two criminal record checks.
