Job summary

Independent Grocers Alliance in Canada is seeking an assistant department manager to help run daily operations within the department and support the department manager.

You will lead and develop team members, ensure exceptional customer service, and support inventory control, pricing, and store readiness. Training and growth opportunities are available as you contribute to a collaborative in-store team.

Qualifications

• 2 years experience in retail or customer service.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Interest in learning about this role and willingness to join the store family.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day management activities within your department in collaboration with the department manager.
• Provide team members with feedback for their professional development and achievement of objectives.
• Collaborate with production and customer service clerks; ensure exceptional customer service.
• Collaborate with the manager to manage inventories, price lists, marketing and salary productivity according to standards.
