Integrity Reforestation Inc. is seeking an Assistant Cook for a spring/summer planting season in Ontario. The role supports daily food service in remote camps, assisting with meal prep for ~70 workers and maintaining kitchen sanitation. You will work under Heads Cook and be part of a high-energy kitchen in a remote setting.

The position requires physical stamina, teamwork, and a strong safety mindset, with long 10–12 hour shifts and meals provided in camp.

Job description

Integrity Reforestation is looking to hire an assistant cook for our 2026 spring/ summer planting season in Ontario. If you have a passion for cooking and a strong positive work ethic.

Position title

The Assistant Cook supports the daily food service operations of our remote reforestation camps across Northern Ontario. This role is essential to maintaining the high nutritional and morale standards required for crews planting millions of trees each season.

Working directly under the Head Cook or Camp Cook, the Assistant Cook helps prepare meals for approximately 70 workers, handles kitchen organization, dishwashing, sanitation routines, and contributes to smooth, efficient service during breakfast, lunch pack-out, and dinner.

This is a physically demanding, fast-paced position ideal for someone who enjoys high-energy kitchen environments, thrives in team settings, and is comfortable living and working in a remote camp.

Work Conditions

• Remote bush camp setting, typically May–July depending on contracts.
• Long workdays, often 10–12 hours with split shifts (early morning + evening).
• Fast-paced kitchen environment feeding large crews.
• Work may involve cold mornings, heat, mud, bugs, and rugged camp terrain.
• Meals provided while in camp.

Preferred

• Valid driver’s licence (helpful for supply runs).
• Experience working in remote or outdoor environments.

Compensation

• $30/hour
• Expected to work 10 hours/day
• All meals, and transportation between camp and work sites included.
