Role Overview:
The Assistant Controller will play a key role in supporting the Group controller and finance team in managing the organization’s accounting operations, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and providing accurate and timely financial reporting. This position involves supervising daily accounting activities, assisting with audits, and implementing internal controls to safeguard the company’s assets. The Assistant Controller acts as a bridge between the accounting team and senior management, providing financial insights that support strategic decision-making.

Responsibilities
  • Accounting Operations: Oversee day-to-day accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and oversee the timely and accurate production of financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Systems & Process Improvement: Support the implementation and optimization of accounting systems, ERP platforms, and process automation. Identify opportunities for efficiency improvements and standardization of accounting procedures.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborate with other departments to create and monitor budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
  • Internal Controls: Develop and maintain internal control procedures to safeguard company assets, prevent fraud, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Audit Management: Coordinate and manage external audits, ensuring successful completion and addressing any findings or recommendations.
  • Tax Compliance: Oversee tax compliance and reporting, working with external tax advisors as necessary.
  • Financial Analysis: Provide financial analysis, insights, and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
  • Ad Hoc Reporting: Generate various financial reports and analysis as requested by senior management.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay up-to-date with changes in financial regulations and ensure Busbud's compliance with all applicable laws and standards.

Qualifications Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (CPA preferred).
  • 7+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience.
  • Previous experience in a leadership role within a finance department.
  • Experience with Oracle and NetSuite is a plus.
