Our Assistant Controller Opportunity

We are seeking an Assistant Controller for a 24-month parental leave coverage, based in our Saskatoon office, with potential extension.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities
  • Prepare month-end balance sheet working papers and journal entries
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and complete Statistics Canada surveys
  • Manage payroll processing, ensure tax compliance, and supervise payroll activities
  • Maintain internal controls, support policy development
  • Assist in budget development
  • Prepare and submit sales taxes, investigate issues, ensure compliance
  • Prepare insurance backups and assist with insurance requests
  • Lead and manage the payroll team, conduct regular performance reviews
Job Requirements
  • Strong leadership, communication, honesty, empathy, creativity, and flexibility
  • Excellent time management, planning, and organizational skills
  • Tertiary qualifications in accounting; CPA preferred
  • 5+ years of accounting experience
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive attitude and innovative mindset
  • Ability to work independently and in teams, manage pressure, and coordinate across time zones
