Job description

Title : Assistant Controller (Temporary - Maternity Leave Replacement)

Schedule : Monday to Friday, 8 hours / day

Benefits :

Summary :

The Assistant Controller plans, organizes, controls, supervises, and coordinates activities related to their responsibilities, aiming to achieve medium-term operational objectives in accordance with accounting guidelines. They support the Controller in developing budget forecasts and implementing control procedures to ensure sound financial management across the Group.

Responsibilities :

  • Establishes and executes internal controls to ensure the proper functioning of processes.
  • Collaborates with audit teams to ensure compliance of operations.
  • Manages weekly and annual inventory counts, analyzes discrepancies.
  • Prepares and monitors the capital budget, controls assets, and collaborates with the Controller on project requests.
  • Analyzes balance sheet accounts, prepares monthly financial statements, and supports strategic management decisions.
  • Reviews reconciliations of balance sheet accounts prepared by the accounting team to validate account integrity.
  • Designs various financial reports to assist in decision-making.
  • Evaluates capital investments, analyzes return on investment, and prepares reports for management.
  • Develops and updates operational procedures for the accounting department.

Qualifications :

  • Education : Bachelor’s degree in accounting and accounting designation (CA, CGA, CMA) obtained or in progress.
  • Experience : Minimum of 3 years.
  • Proficiency in French and English.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Good knowledge of computer systems.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, results-oriented.
  • Leadership (to gather, mobilize, guide, influence).
