Duties/Responsibilities:
- Assistant Construction Superintendent to manage relationships between RPI and contractors.
- Supervises work schedules and assignments for contractors.
- Communicates and enforces safety procedures and site rules and addresses any safety violations or other deficiencies.
- Assist Commercial Project Supervisor to develop a schedule and cost-effective plan for completion of an assigned project.
- Assistant Construction Superintendent ensures all materials, supplies, and other needs of project are procured, delivered, and secured at jobsite.
- Leads the coordination and scheduling of work activities of contractors, communicating instructions and project assignments as appropriate.
- Supervises work for quality and timeliness; prepares and provides progress reports to Director of Projects; makes recommendations for necessary modifications.
- Collaborates through Commercial Projects Supervisor with pertinent stakeholders to ensure specifications, zoning requirements, and other regulations are met. Leads the supervision of project to ensure plans are followed.
- Monitors budget throughout the project and communicates variances as they occur.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Qualifications of Assistant Construction Superintendent:
- 2 years construction experience requried
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to oversee and coordinate a variety of people in different roles.
- Extremely detail oriented with the ability to read and understand blueprints, drawings, and plans.
- Understanding of quality building practices.
- Ability to quickly identify problems and efficiently solve them.
- Ability to utilize IT system
- Experience with CompanyCam is a plus.
License/Certification:
- Driver's License with good driving record (Required)
- OSHA 10 or 30 .
Physical Requirements:
- Must be comfortable on roofs and ladders.
- Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the construction site in all types of weather.
- Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at times.
