Position: Assistant Compliance Manager
Location: Markham (hybrid)
Salary: $26.50/hr (plus benefits and prorated vacation)
Job Type: 8-month contract (with potential for extension)

Role Summary

The Assistant Manager, Compliance supports the Compliance leadership team in overseeing and managing bank‑wide regulatory compliance (excluding AML/TF). This role focuses on regulatory compliance management, consumer protection, privacy, compliance testing, and regulatory reporting, while working closely with internal stakeholders and the Parent Bank.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the maintenance of the Regulatory Compliance Management (RCM) framework
• Identify, assess, and document applicable regulatory requirements across business units
• Perform gap assessments for new or amended regulations and track remediation efforts
• Document and review compliance policies, procedures, controls, and matrices
• Conduct compliance testing and monitor remediation progress
• Manage complaints and regulatory reporting (e.g., FCAC, OBSI)
• Review marketing and promotional materials for regulatory compliance
• Coordinate regulatory and internal reporting to senior management
• Support regulatory examinations, audits, and compliance training initiatives
• Assist with ad‑hoc compliance projects as required

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• 2-3 years of experience in Compliance, Risk, Privacy, or related banking roles within the financial services sector
• Working knowledge of regulatory bodies and frameworks (OSFI, FCAC, CDIC, PIPEDA, CASL, Bank Act)
• Experience with Regulatory Compliance Management tools (e.g., Ethidex or similar)
• Strong organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
