This role offers the opportunity to learn various functions at one of our manufactured home communities, including management, sales, customer service, office administration, maintenance/grounds, and more through hands-on experience. OVERVIEW

The Assistant Community Manager supports the community by learning to perform key functions such as administrative tasks, marketing, budgeting, property maintenance, human resources, leasing, home sales, and resident relations. Ensuring a positive atmosphere and responsive service leads to satisfied residents and positive word-of-mouth referrals.

JOB DUTIES

  • Provide high-level customer service consistent with Sun’s philosophy.
  • Handle and resolve resident issues promptly and professionally.
  • Manage rent collection, including deposits and delinquency follow-up.
  • Assist with the eviction process as needed.
  • Support Lease Purchase Program activities, including repairs, leasing, sales, and closings.
  • Monitor and explain monthly operating budgets and P&L variances.
  • Participate in team member recruitment, training, scheduling, and development, ensuring policy compliance.
  • Maintain community appearance to Sun’s standards.
  • Develop marketing strategies and oversee advertising efforts.
  • Enforce community rules and standards.
  • Ensure compliance with fair housing laws and regulations.
  • Plan and coordinate resident events and activities.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

The ideal candidate has a strong business mindset, excellent organizational skills, and prioritizes customer service. Leadership and ability to work in a fast-paced environment are essential.

  • High School Diploma or GED; Bachelor’s in Real Estate, Hospitality, or Business is a plus.
  • At least 1 year of property management experience.
  • Experience in sales and leasing.
  • Basic maintenance knowledge.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and leadership abilities.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure.
  • Understanding of accounting principles.
  • Knowledge of fair housing laws.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, email, and internet; Yardi experience preferred.
  • Flexibility for non-business hours if needed.
