Job summary

Trinity Western University invites applications for an Assistant Coach to support the Canada West Team activities, including games, practices, recruitment, and player management. The role works closely with the MSOC Head Coach to implement training and development plans on campus in Langley.

The ideal candidate has 1-2 years of varsity experience, a bachelor's degree, and NCCP Level II or equivalent, with CPR certification. Commitment to TWU's mission and Christian identity is important.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree/BA and previous experience in related field.
• Preference given to those working towards a coaching certification (National Coaching Certification Program).
• Valid Sports-Aid and CPR certificate are to be provided prior to commencement of employment and annually thereafter.
• Level II or equivalent NCCP coaching certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Watch local games and meet with recruits when needed.
• Attend recruiting meetings and evaluate the current needs of the team.

Job Standards and Requirements

Education

• Undergraduate degree/ BA and previous experience in related field.
• Preference given to those working towards a coaching certification (National Coaching Certification Program).

• Level II or equivalent NCCP coaching certification preferred.

Experience

• 1-2 years of experience in a varsity athletic program.
• Experience playing at the University Varsity level required

• Excellent interpersonal skills and communication.
• Ability to work with students, parents, head coach, faculty, staff, administration and members of the media effectively
