Job Description
The Assistant Catering & Operations Manager is responsible for organizing and directing retail and catering operations on campus, reporting necessary changes and initiatives to the Food Service Director while adhering to strict guidelines outlined by Aramark policies and procedures. This role involves providing leadership to a team of food service associates and working closely with retail supervisors on day-to-day operations.
Job Responsibilities
- Ensure excellence in food service and customer service by conducting daily walk-throughs of all outlets, ensuring timely openings, cleanliness, and proper organization. Identify client needs and communicate operational progress.
- Manage both large and small catering operations on and off-site, including deliveries and outdoor catering events.
- Assist in developing and managing retail supervisors, adhering to retail brand standards, and monitoring scheduling for daily allowable hours. Bring value through efficient operations, appropriate cost controls (Inventory Management), and profit management.
- Attend weekly catering meetings with conference services, delivering company-driven initiatives in service, food, and safety.
- Coordinate with the Kitchen Manager regarding catering production quality and cost control.
- Perform or delegate monthly food safety audits and food management assessments.
- Ensure adherence to Aramark's policies, procedures, and health and safety programs, including JH&S meetings.
- Monitor transferring invoices and daily sales posting and maintain location equipment and maintenance records to ensure a safe work environment.
Qualifications
- At least 3 years of supervisory experience in a fast-paced food service environment managing Franchise units like Tim Horton, Starbucks, Subway and Catering food service operations.
- Customer service – desire to provide exceptional customer service and build relationships.
- Knowledge of computerized spreadsheet Excel and word processing programs.
- Problem solver – ability to prioritize tasks.
- Strong communication skills – team player, eager to learn, leadership skills.
Education
Minimum 1-2 years experience
