Job summary

The Soho House is hiring an Assistant Bar Manager to support the Bar Manager in daily operations across club bar areas, delivering premium beverage service that enhances the member experience.

You will ensure compliance with licensing, health, safety and hygiene standards while supporting commercial and creative goals. This role requires leadership, hospitality and a teamwork mindset in a high‑volume setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years’ experience in a similar capacity.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and stay calm under pressure.
• Hospitable, approachable and dedicated to customer service.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Assist in staff management: support the Bar Manager in recruiting, training and supervising bar staff.
• Oversee day-to-day bar operations: open/close procedures, health and safety compliance, cleanliness and organization.
• Lead customer service excellence: interact with guests and resolve inquiries or complaints.
• Manage bar inventory: order supplies, monitor stock, minimize waste.
• Develop and price drinks menus in collaboration with the Bar Manager.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and analysis to control costs and drive revenue.
• Coordinate ongoing training for staff on products, service standards and safety.
• Maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure quality products.

• Assisting in Staff Management: Support the Bar Manager in recruiting, training, and supervising bar staff. Provide guidance, feedback, and performance evaluations to ensure a high level of service and professionalism.
• Operational Oversight: Assist in the day-to-day operations of the bar, including opening and closing procedures, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and maintaining cleanliness and organization in all areas.
• Customer Service Excellence: Lead by example in delivering exceptional customer service. Interact with guests, handle customer inquiries or complaints promptly and effectively, and ensure that all guests have a positive experience.
• Inventory Management: Assist in managing bar inventory, including ordering supplies, monitoring stock levels, and conducting regular inventory counts. Implement strategies to minimize waste and optimize inventory turnover.
• Menu Development and Pricing: Collaborate with the Bar Manager and other team members to develop and update the bar menu, including selecting and pricing beverages and creating signature cocktails. Ensure that menu offerings are aligned with customer preferences and industry trends.
• Financial Management: Support the Bar Manager in monitoring bar revenue, expenses, and profitability. Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and analyzing financial data to identify opportunities for cost savings and revenue growth.
• Training and Development: Coordinate training sessions and ongoing education programs for bar staff to enhance their skills and knowledge of products, service standards, and safety procedures.
• Maintaining Relationships: Cultivate positive relationships with suppliers, vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure the smooth operation of the bar and access to high‑quality products and services.
