The University of Toronto is recruiting for a permanent full-time Academic Clinician in the Division of Rheumatology at Sick Kids in Toronto. The role includes delivering clinical care, teaching, supervision of learners, and active participation in academic activities and departmental governance.

Applicants should have an MD/MBBS, subspecialty training in Rheumatology, eligibility for licensure in Ontario, and be eligible for an academic appointment at the University of Toronto.

Qualifications

• MD, MBBS or the equivalent thereto and be certified or eligible for certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or have comparable qualification.
• Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.

Responsibilities

• Deliver excellent clinical care and pursue scholarly academic work.
• Clinical activities will include ambulatory clinics, attending and consulting inpatients, and participating in on-call responsibilities.
• Educational activities will include teaching and supervision of learners including students, residents and fellows.
• Attend divisional meetings, participate in the weekly academic half day, weekly Paediatric Grand Rounds and other educational sessions.
• Take part in divisional and departmental administrative duties and participate in CME events.

Description

Division of Rheumatology - Department of Paediatrics Effective immediately the Department of Paediatrics at the Hospital for Sick Children, (SickKids), 555 University Avenue, Toronto, Ontario is recruiting for a permanent full-time faculty position as an Academic Clinician in the Division of Rheumatology. SickKids is an academic health science centre dedicated to the care of children and is a fully affiliated hospital with the University of Toronto. The Division provides tertiary and quaternary care for children with rheumatic diseases and has established a tradition of excellence in clinical care, education and research. Subspecialty clinics for children and adolescents with dermatomyositis, morphea, systemic juvenile idiopathic arthritis, autoinflammatory diseases, spondyloarthritis, CNO, vasculitis and systemic lupus erythematosus are well established. The Fellowship Training Program is fully accredited by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. Independent and collaborative clinical and basic science research is performed by Division members. We encourage applications from individuals within 10 years of completing their rheumatology training, with preference given to applicants who are in early to mid-career stage. Expertise or a focused interest in autoinflammatory diseases or vasculitis is preferred; training in quality improvement and safety or musculoskeletal ultrasound would be an asset.

• All candidates must be able to function proficiently in English.
• All candidates must hold an MD, MBBS or the equivalent thereto and be certified or eligible for certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or have comparable qualification.
• All candidates must have completed subspecialty training in Rheumatology and must hold or be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.
• Eligible for an academic appointment at the University of Toronto.
