Job description

Assistant Accountant (Mindgardens)

  • Employment Type: Part-time (21 hours a week)
  • Duration: 12-month fixed term (possible extension depending on funding)
  • Remuneration: $88k - $100k base pro-rata (plus 17% superannuation and leave loading)
  • Work rights: Visa sponsorship is not available. Candidates must have full rights to work in Australia.
  • Location: Randwick, Sydney

About Mindgardens

Mindgardens Neuroscience Network Limited is a registered charity dedicated to improving the lives of individuals with disorders involving the brain, emotions, nervous system, and thinking processes. We foster collaboration among researchers, clinicians, and consumers to translate insights into practice, integrating healthcare, research, and education to advance understanding and treatment of mental health, neurological, and substance use disorders.

Role Importance

This role supports daily finance operations such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, banking, general ledger maintenance, and account reconciliation. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will provide proactive and efficient financial support across all areas of Mindgardens.

Key Skills and Qualifications

  • Degree in Commerce, Accounting, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience as an Assistant Accountant in a complex environment.
  • Understanding of financial controls, accounting processes, and policy application.
  • Stakeholder management skills with the ability to respond effectively to needs.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and tasks.
  • Proficiency with enterprise financial systems (e.g., Business Central, Solver, Calumo).
  • Attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate financial reports for management.
