Summary
Job Summary:
We are seeking a caring and dependable Assistant 1-Year-Old Teacher to support the learning, development, and daily care of toddlers in a safe and nurturing environment. The ideal candidate will work closely with the Lead Teacher to provide individualized attention, assist with classroom activities, and ensure toddlers' physical, emotional, and developmental needs are met. This role requires patience, attentiveness, and a passion for early childhood education. The Assistant 1-Year-Old Teacher will help maintain a structured routine, engage toddlers in age-appropriate learning experiences, and communicate effectively with families to support each child's growth.
Duties
Job Duties:
- Assist in caring for and supervising one-year-olds, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Help maintain daily routines, including feeding, diapering, and nap schedules.
- Engage in age-appropriate activities that support cognitive, motor, and social-emotional development.
- Encourage exploration and curiosity through hands-on learning and play-based experiences.
- Support positive interactions and guide toddlers in developing early social skills.
- Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment, following health and safety guidelines.
- Observe children?s development and communicate progress or concerns to the Lead Teacher.
- Build strong relationships with children and families, fostering trust and collaboration.
- Assist in preparing learning materials and classroom setup to enhance engagement.
- Work as a team with colleagues to provide a nurturing and structured learning environment.
Requirements
Job Requirements:
- Education Requirements: High school diploma or GED required; associate?s or bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred.
- Education Preferred: Certification: CPR and First Aid certification required; additional childcare-related certifications are a plus.
- Experience: Previous experience working with infants or toddlers in a childcare, preschool, or early education setting preferred.
Skills:
- Understanding of toddler development and age-appropriate learning activities.
- Ability to support structured routines, play-based learning, and social-emotional development.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with families and staff.
- Knowledge of health, safety, and hygiene standards in an infant care environment.
- Patience, attentiveness, and nurturing demeanor in caregiving.
