Radio-Canada News & Current Affairs is looking for an Assignment Co-ordinator. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing work schedules for Centre de l’Information (CDI) staff in Montreal as efficiently as possible to meet production needs while adhering to collective agreements and internal rules. You will play a support and co-ordination role, in which you will be required to find creative solutions to maintain continuity of operations.
You will be responsible for co-ordinating the flow of all information between relevant departments with a view to preparing the weekly assignment schedule for CDI staff. Your schedule will be adjusted to cover certain on-call shifts remotely and meet last-minute backfill needs.
The work environment is unique to a news department, where employees work irregular hours and each function is different from the others. A lot of work is urgent in a nature, creating high-stress situations; the position therefore requires tact and sound judgment.
You will work primarily a daytime schedule (in the office and remotely) which also includes rotating on-call shifts in the evening, night and weekend (remotely) in rotation with the other team members.
Please note that this is a permanent full-time position to be filled.

Qualifications:
College diploma or equivalent
Two (2) or more years’ experience performing similar duties
Skills:
Strong organization skills, attention to detail, independence and commitment to confidentiality
Strong ability to multitask
Proven interpersonal skills
Flair for finding creative solutions
Ability to work well in a team and under pressure
Very good knowledge of French
Ability to work and navigate in the Google environment an asset
Knowledge of a newsroom production environment an asset
