Qualifications

• Valid Provincial Security Guard Licence is required.

This is a front-line career in retail security where your vigilance, professionalism, and quick decision-making help create a safe shopping environment while reducing theft and fraud in high-volume grocery and pharmacy settings.

Responsibilities

• Actively prevent theft, fraud, and policy violations by maintaining a visible and professional presence in-store
• Safely and lawfully detain offenders, following all company and legal procedures
• Conduct detailed internal and external investigations, gather and analyze evidence, and work with law enforcement when required
• Partner with store leadership to identify loss trends and implement effective prevention strategies
• Ensure compliance with company standards, security policies, and provincial regulations
• Monitor CCTV and surveillance tools to detect and respond to suspicious activity
• Thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with a flexible schedule

Requirements

• Valid Provincial Security Guard Licence
• Understanding of the Criminal Code of Canada, Trespass to Property Act, and related legislation
• Experience with CCTV, surveillance tools, and Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Approachable, confident, and respectful with exceptional communication skills
• High level of trustworthiness, accountability, and proactive approach to problem-solving
• Available to work days, evenings, nights, and weekends (40 hr. work week)
• Previous experience in grocery, pharmacy, or high-volume retail is an asset
• Must be 18 years or older; criminal background check required
