Job summary

Loblaw Companies Limited in Grande Prairie, Alberta is seeking an Asset Protection Representative to join one of Canada's largest retailers. You will deter theft, investigate fraud, and work with APRs and local police to protect assets and ensure store safety.

You'll participate in store audits, community events, and training, while fostering partnerships with store management. The role requires a provincial security license and a professional, proactive approach; shifts include days, evenings,

Qualifications

• Valid Provincial Security Guard License required.
• Understanding of the Criminal Code, Trespass to Property Act, Powers of Arrest and CCTV surveillance systems.
• Proficient with Windows-based applications (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Professional, friendly and approachable demeanor.
• High initiative and integrity.

Responsibilities

• Deter, detect and apprehend theft and fraud in our retail locations.
• Collaborate with other APRs to investigate provincial or national ORC cases.
• Collaborate with local police service regularly.
• Detect and investigate internal investigations; compile and present evidence for court/arbitration.
• Identify shrink opportunities within our operational core compliance.
• Build and maintain store partnerships through management meetings and huddles; coach staff on AP policies.
• Participate in store level audits.
• Participate in Community Events.
• Available to work days, evenings, nights and weekends (40 hr. work week).

As An Asset Protection Representative, You Will:

• Deter, detect and apprehend for theft and fraud within our retail locations
• Collaborate with other APRs to investigate provincial or national ORC cases when they arise
• Collaborate with the local police service regularly

• Detect and identify potential shrink opportunities within our operational core compliance
• Build and maintain store partnership through management meetings & huddles; coach and mentor colleagues regarding Asset Protection policies and procedures
• Participate in conducting store level audits
• Participate in Community Events
• Available to work a variety of shifts including days, evenings, nights and weekends (40 hr. work week)

Required Skills, Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid Provincial Security Guard License required
• Basic understanding of the of Criminal Code of Canada, Trespass to Property Act and Powers of Arrest and CCTV and/or surveillance systems & have a working knowledge of Windows based applications (Word, Power Point and Outlook)
• Professional, friendly and approachable demeanor.
• A high degree of initiative and integrity required to be successful in a dynamic environment
