We are seeking an Asset Manager to join the Asset Management team to support the optimization of behind-the-meter battery energy storage systems in Ontario and the U.S. This role focuses on commercial operations, data and financial analysis, ISO compliance, vendor relations, and customer support. Ideal candidates bring experience, best practices, and strong communication skills to collaborate with partners and address inquiries. Responsibilities:
  • Lead data analytics strategy and develop economic models (Excel/Python) to optimize BESS performance and identify market opportunities;
  • Oversee daily operations of Ontario BESS assets, including performance monitoring, reporting, and issue resolution;
  • Manage internal reporting and support external stakeholder communications, including IESO and utility programs;
  • Coordinate asset participation in Capacity Auctions, from registration and bidding to compliance and contributor enrollment;
  • Ensure adherence to market rules, respond to audits, and suggest process improvements;
  • Maintain strong relationships with customers, vendors, and third parties, ensuring compliance with ICI and other program requirements;
  • Collaborate with operations, engineering, and maintenance teams to resolve performance-impacting issues;
  • Ensure timely processing of invoices and payments in coordination with accounting and treasury teams;
  • Support contractual compliance and assist with other duties or reporting tasks as needed.

Key Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, mathematics, computer science, economics, or related quantitative field preferred; equivalent experience with strong data analysis and Excel modeling skills accepted;
  • Proficiency in Excel (including financial modeling) and PowerPoint;
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical communication skills;
  • Experience with IESO or other North American energy markets is an asset;
  • Knowledge of commercial/industrial facility operations is an asset;
  • 2–3 years of experience in renewable energy, energy storage, operations, finance, or asset management;
  • Familiarity with programming languages (e.g., Python, R) for statistical analysis preferred;
  • Experience with data tools such as MySQL, Snowflake, or Power BI preferred.

Compensation and Location:
Salary: A base salary commensurate with experience;
Bonus: An annual bonus will be awarded based on individual performance and the overall success of the business;

Location: Hybrid (CAN). Ability to work in Canada is a requirement. Preference is given to candidates located in Toronto, Ontario or willing to relocate.
