The OpportunityMosaic is seeking an Asset Manager, for a 2-year work term to work out of ourNanaimo office on Vancouver Island, British Columbia.

The RoleReporting to the Director Real Estate Development & Sales, the Asset Manager is responsible for the management of commercial facilities, land, and related assets, with a focus on evaluating and executing business and growth opportunities within the Asset Management portfolio. A key priority for this role will be reviewing and modernizing the administrative structure supporting property management activities. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Lead the Asset Management team through process improvements, optimizing team capabilities, generating value, and developing streamlined standard operating procedures (SOPs);
  • Oversee the management of commercial properties, facilities, and land use, including maintenance planning and improvement scheduling;
  • Negotiate agreements with tenants, license holders, and third parties, while guiding a team of property and administrative professionals;
  • Evaluate market trends, identify business opportunities, assess risks, and provide strategic recommendations to support asset growth;
  • Coordinate the resolution of land use issues through stakeholder engagement and thorough research;
  • Manage non-commercial properties (e.g., lakebeds, free miner areas, cabins licences) and ensure centralized documentation practices;
  • Prepare and administer agreements such as private land contracts, road use agreements, and government licenses or leases;
  • Oversee contract compliance, including rent payments, insurance, and environmental obligations; and
  • Lead and develop a high-performing Asset Management team by enhancing processes, optimizing capabilities, and ensuring alignment with company values, policies, and applicable legislation.

What We’re Seeking:

  • Undergraduate degree in Business Administration or Urban Land Economics;
  • 10 + years of experience in commercial property management, development, or real estate;
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and budgets under pressure;
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills;
  • Skilled in conflict resolution and collaboration with diverse teams and stakeholders;
  • Strong budgeting, analytical, strategic planning, and negotiation skills; and
  • Valid BC Class 5 Drivers License or equivalent.

Compensation
The annual salary range for this position is $100,000 to $150,000. Individual compensation is commensurate with skill, relevant experience, and education.
