As an External Client Advisor within our Business Development team, you will be responsible for providing field sales coverage in Montreal and surrounding areas. Your role will involve coordinating business development initiatives, establishing crucial client relationships, and managing campaigns and marketing activities. You will have the unique opportunity to contribute to the expansion of our investment capabilities in the Canadian retail market as part of a leading asset management firm.
Job Responsibilities
- Proactively contact firms to identify avenues for increased penetration, including but not limited, to new advisor referrals, conference / meeting opportunities, and website presence.
- Perform a variety of sales functions including client meetings, client follow-up, proposal generation, presentations, public speaking, and attending seminar and industry events.
- Be the primary point of contact for advisors with regards to JP Morgan products
- Leverage a consultative approach to gain a thorough understanding of the client’s needs.
- Be a subject matter expert on the implementation on all JPMorgan products.
- Work closely with internal sales associate, marketing, legal and compliance.
- Collaborate with the senior leadership team, product teams, and marketing to develop a five-year roadmap for the Canadian Business.
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills
- 10+ years’ experience with financial services company in sales / specialist role
- Extensive experience in the mutual funds, ETF’s, SMA’s, private alternative space, including experience in various structures of private alternatives.
- Existing relationships with key decision makers and centers of influence within Montreal and surrounding areas
- Experience in working and supporting financial advisors in Montreal and surrounding areas.
- Ability to communicate information and state problems or challenges to be resolved in a clear, concise, courteous and professional manner.
- Frequent travel is required and available to work the days and hours necessary to perform all assigned responsibilities and tasks. Must be available (especially during regular business hours or shifts) to communicate with subordinates, supervisors, and co-workers.
- 4 year degree.
- Fluency in French is a requirement.

- MBA, CFA, CIM, CAIA preferred.
