Job Description

The Opportunity:

Ready to launch your engineering career while contributing to the safe and reliable operation of critical energy infrastructure? Join our Asset Integrity team and gain hands‑on experience supporting the systems and equipment that keep our operations running safely and efficiently.

Asset Integrity Engineers utilize a variety of inspection, repair, risk assessment, and corrosion management technologies to ensure the effectiveness of asset integrity programs across our Oil Sands, Thermal, and Conventional operations. These programs support a diverse range of assets, including pressure equipment, piping systems, storage tanks, structural components, and an extensive network of pipelines throughout Western Canada.

As an Asset Integrity Engineering Student, you will work alongside a diverse group of stakeholders, including Field Integrity, Production Engineering, Process Engineering, Static & Rotating Equipment Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, and Projects teams. Through this collaboration, you will gain insight into the technical, operational, and regulatory requirements that support the safe and reliable performance of critical assets.

This role offers the opportunity to develop practical experience with engineering software and tools, industry codes and standards, risk‑based decision‑making processes, and asset integrity management practices. You will contribute to meaningful projects, enhance your technical knowledge, and build a strong understanding of how engineering, operations, and maintenance teams work together to support safe, reliable, and efficient operations.

Opportunities are available in both Calgary and at our Oil Sands operations. Calgary‑based students will support Conventional and Thermal Asset Integrity teams while gaining field exposure through site visits. Students located at our Oil Sands sites will work directly within operations, gaining valuable hands‑on experience in a dynamic and fast‑paced operating environment.

This is an exciting opportunity to apply your technical knowledge, develop industry experience, and work alongside experienced engineers while making a meaningful contribution to the reliability and safety of Canadian Natural's assets.
