Job summary

RTX's Oakville, Ontario facility is seeking an Assembly Technician for the weekday night shift to assemble and test landing gear components.

You will follow drawings and test procedures, operate an overhead crane, and contribute to TPM/LEAN/5S in a team-oriented environment with a strong emphasis on safety and quality.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent and 3+ years of aerospace assembly experience; AMT certification is a plus.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent with a recognized college/trade program.
  • 3+ years of assembly experience in aerospace/manufacturing.
  • Experience with hydraulic & electrical control systems and test equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and test landing gear shock struts and components per drawings and procedures.
  • Replace/repair/retro-fit MLG, NLG, linkages, actuators and LRUs.
  • Perform electrical/hydraulic functional tests per instructions.
  • Support TPM, LEAN, 5S, and FOD prevention in the cell.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and standard work in the cell.
  • Support quality initiatives with operator-self-verification (OSV).
  • Perform other duties such as sub-assemblies, sealing, bushing installation, calibration.

As Assembly Technician, you will be responsible for assembling and testing of landing gear and or landing gear components.

Work Location: Oakville Facility, Ontario – Canada

Shift Hours – Weekday Night Shift (Monday-Thursday) 8:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m.

What You Will Do
  • Responsible for assembling and testing of landing gear shock struts and components per Collins drawing and Acceptance Test Procedure requirements
  • Perform replacement / repair / retro-fit of MLG, NLG, Linkages, Actuators and LRU’s per Assembly Process Sheets, Engineering Instructions and drawing requirements
  • Perform electrical / hydraulic functional tests per Engineering Instruction and Acceptance Test Procedures
  • Work in a safe team-oriented environment and participate as an active member of the implementation & execution of TPM, LEAN, 5S, and FOD prevention principles
  • Support and promote continuous improvement, 5S activities and Standard Work Development in the cell.
  • Support quality initiatives by performing operator-self-verification (OSV)
  • Perform other duties as assigned (e.g. sub-assemblies, sealing, bushing installation, calibration & shelf life activities)
Qualifications

We Require Typically; High school diploma, or equivalent work experience plus recognized and accredited college/trade program

Previous Landing Gear Assembly experience or 3 or more years of assembly experience in a manufacturing/aerospace environment

  • Demonstrated understanding of hydraulic & electrical control systems and using test equipment
  • Demonstrated ability to follow assembly instructions and/or blueprints
  • Demonstrated ability to operate and use an overhead crane in a safe manner
  • Demonstrated ability to follow strict safety practices and procedures.

The selected candidate has to be eligible to work in Canada; successful candidate must meet all requirements under ITAR and CCGP

We Prefer

Aircraft maintenance technician (AMT) certification would be an asset

The salary range for this role is 74,068 CAD – 87,144 CAD.

The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
