Mercana in Surrey, BC is seeking a Production Associate to join our made-to-order photography and wall art team. You will work across production stations, cutting frames, preparing canvases, and applying finishes while prioritizing safety and quality.

Doors are open to candidates with a keen eye for detail who can read and follow precise work orders. The role offers an afternoon shift (1:00 PM–9:30 PM, Monday to Friday) with hourly pay ranging from $19.00 to $21.00 depending on experience.

Responsibilities

• Operate saws and machinery to cut frames, glass, and mirrors.
• Prepare prints or canvases with coatings per specifications.
• Apply paint and texture to canvases, wood, glass, or mirrors as required.
• Oversee printing runs and ensure orders meet specifications.
• Stretch, trim, and assemble canvas and framed art to standards.
• Monitor quality, prevent damage, dirt, and defects.
• Package art pieces in custom boxes for shipping.
• Work across production stations and meet targets.
• Follow all health and safety standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized workstation.
• Assist in cross-functional training as needed.

ABOUT MERCANA

Expected wage range of $19.00 – $21.00 per hour ( depending on experience), with placement in the range based on relevant experience and demonstrated skill

Shift from 1 pm to 930 pm Monday through Friday.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Production Associate plays a crucial role in creating our made-to-order photography and wall art pieces. The Production Associate works in stations on the production floor based on the flow of customer orders, with safety as the top priority. Over time, the Production Associate will grow in responsibility by mastering all production functions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operate saws and machinery to cut frames, glass, and mirrors
• Prepare prints or canvases with coating treatments according to specifications
• Prepare surfaces and apply paint and texture to canvas, wood boards, glass, or mirrors using knowledge of various mediums and materials
• Oversee printing runs based on daily production orders, ensuring orders are loaded and printed to specification
• Stretch, trim, and assemble canvas and framed art according to company standards
• Monitor product quality and ensure pieces are free of damage, soiling, or defects
• Prepare and construct custom boxes for packing art pieces
• Work across various stations on the production line and maintain production targets
• Follow all health and safety standards
• Maintain a clean and organized workstation
• Participate in cross-functional training to support business needs
• Perform other duties as required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
