Assembly Mechanic II Responsibilities:
  1. Ability to problem solve and troubleshoot producibility challenges;
  2. Build and Bond medium to high complexity furniture and interior major assemblies;
  3. Experience in Boeing and/or Airbus Process Specifications;
  4. Proficient in processes within potting and bonding work center (Fill and fair, install insert and edge pot);
  5. Possesses limited Subject Matter Expertise in furniture bonding and assembly:
    1. Support Fabrication of jigs and fixtures for accurate and repeatable execution of critical fit requirements for components.
    2. Pre-fit and bond, vacuum bond interior components of varying combinations of material type.
    3. Forming and bonding of aluminum trim extrusions and sheets, honeycomb panel and other materials for completion of the sub-assemblies, parts or structures.
  6. Exposure to interior component assembly, custom fabrication of parts, applying complex décor per finish requirements;
  7. With minimal assistance perform complex repairs on components as required by the customer;
  8. Experience with shop equipment drill motors, pneumatic tools, band saws, drill presses, various tool grinders, Rivet gun and bucking bar, C-squeeze, ratchet wrench, nut runner;
  9. Experience in use of Chemical solvents, sealants, coatings, primers, adhesives, paints, liquid nitrogen and special finishes;
  10. Contribute to work center standard operating procedures;
  11. Support continuous improvement activity;
  12. Ability to consume electrical and structural part drawings;
  13. Train other entry to mid-level assembly mechanic shop personnel;
  14. Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge/Experience:

  1. Must be at least 18 years of age.
  2. Shall possess, at a minimum, a High School diploma or GED.
  3. 3 - 5+ years' experience in the consuming electrical and structural aerospace/equivalent part drawings.
  4. 3 - 5+ years interpreting, authoring and executing assembly and component test requirements.
  5. Mechanical and electrical aptitude and knowledge of aerospace or other equivalent industry.

Skills/Abilities:

  1. Ability to communicate well with others.
  2. Troubleshooting/problem solving.
  3. Detail oriented.
  4. Ability to prioritize, multi-task effectively, and work under pressure.
  5. Able to perform mathematic calculations.
  6. Work from solid models, technical drawings, engineering sketches, and other such documentation to produce a variety of prototype and production parts.
  7. Analyze written specifications, drawings, rough sketches, and verbal instructions to determine operation sequences.

Working Conditions:
Standard machine shop environment.

Physical Requirements:
Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds. Hearing and vision within normal ranges is essential for safe conduct on the manufacturing floor and to meet job responsibilities.
