Job summary

Pratt & Whitney in Mississauga, Ontario is seeking an assembly technician to assemble engines and sub-assemblies on-site, following assembly floor sheets and safety practices. You will ensure quality and sign off completed work, while documenting build and test activities across shifts.

The role requires a high school diploma or technical college in aircraft trades, 2+ years in the aircraft field, fluent English, and strong mechanical aptitude with teamwork and initiative.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; 2 years of technical college in aircraft trades.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in the aircraft field preferred.
  • Must be fluent in written and spoken English.
  • Must possess a high degree of mechanical aptitude and be able to problem solve effectively.
  • Must display drive and initiative and have a teamwork mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Assembles aircraft engines and sub-assemblies per assembly floor sheets with attention to equipment and safety.
  • Maintains quality and integrity of product at all times.
  • Signs assembly floor sheets when operations are complete.
  • Executes engine pre-dress, test and post-dress per assembly floor sheets.
  • Documents build, test or strip activities to coordinate shifts.
  • Contributes to FOD prevention, EHS culture and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities
  • Assembles aircraft engines and sub-assemblies according to assembly floor sheets (AFS) giving necessary attention to the use and care of equipment, tools and safe working practices
  • Ensures that quality and integrity of product is maintained at all times.
  • Signs applicable assembly floor sheets (AFS) when operations are complete.
  • Executes engine pre-dress, test and post-dress according to assembly floor sheets (AFS).
  • Documents build, test or strip activities to ensure smooth work flow and coordination between shifts.
  • Checks that tools, equipment, and parts are clean, FOD and damage free prior to & after use. Ensures proper care and storage of tools, equipment, and parts during assembly, test & disassembly of engines.
  • Assists in troubleshooting during assembly, test or disassembly of engines performing various tasks such as cleaning hardware etc.
  • Contributes to FOD prevention, continuous improvement and EHS cultures.
  • Shift work required (2 weeks days, 2 weeks afternoons on rotation), alternate shifts may be required at times.
Tools you need to be successful
  • High school diploma or equivalent; 2 years of technical college in aircraft trades
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in the aircraft field preferred
  • Awareness of EH&S and continuous improvement (an asset)
  • Must be detail and result oriented
  • Must possess a good capacity for teamwork
  • Must possess a high degree of mechanical aptitude and be able to problem solve effectively
  • Must display drive and initiative
  • Candidate must be fluent in written and spoken English

The salary range for this role is $70,670 to $115,240 CAD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
