Job Summary:

This position is for an Assembler with production experience in fit-up and fine adjustments, enjoys working with their hands, self-motivated, attentive to detail, and takes pride in achieving performance excellence.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Demonstrates excellence in performing complex mechanical and electrical assemblies.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Knowledge of impellers, shafts, gearboxes, and bushings installation and fine adjustments.
  • Completes fit-up, welding, grinding, deburring, and polishing operations.
  • Interpret assembly drawings, work order instructions, procedure manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions.
  • Complete standardized written documentation and forms.
  • Uses appropriate inspection gauges.
  • Report deviations from specifications and tolerances to supervisor.
  • Maintain inspection records and complete inspection reports.
  • Reports any malfunctions or equipment problems to management.
  • The job requires the use of hand/powered tools, wires, fixtures, parts, sub-assemblies, and operation of overhead crane and pallet jacks.
  • Adheres to all company policies and procedures paying special attention to health and safety procedures.
  • Maintains clean, orderly, and safe work areas.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Physical:
    • Sitting, Standing, and Walking.
    • Carrying, Stooping, Lifting and Reaching.
    • Lifting Requirements: Up to 50 pounds.
  • Mental:
    • Math.
    • The use of the English language, both Oral and Written.
    • Requires daily communication with multiple departments to ensure maximum efficiency.
Education & Training:
  • OSSD High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Technical School Diploma, Trade Certificate or Equivalent Certificate of Qualifications preferred.
  • CWB Welding certificate is an asset.
  • TSSA Certified Carbon and Stainless is an asset.
  • Previous Certification Forklift and Overhead Crane.
  • Advanced Math, including geometry and trigonometry.
Skills & Experience:
  • Minimum 3 years with rotary equipment and complex assemblies.
  • Familiarity with Duplex, Ni-hard, Alloy 20 is a plus.
  • Knowledge of both manual and electrical tools.
  • Understanding of metrology.
  • Proficient knowledge and ability to read engineering drawings.
  • Exceptional communication and technical skills.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-starter who takes initiative and maintains excellent follow-through and follow-up.
  • Performs well in a fast-paced environment and can multitask with ease.
Working Conditions:
  • Schedule: Day shift, 7:30am-4pm
