Job summary

Armour Cyber is seeking a Junior Security Operations Specialist to monitor and improve the security posture for the organization and clients. You will identify threats, respond to incidents, and drive continuous improvements in security operations.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 2–5 years of security operations experience, with familiarity in SIEM, IDS/IPS, and firewalls. English and Spanish bilingualism is preferred; cloud security knowledge is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field. Equivalent work experience may be considered.
• 2–5 years of experience in security operations, IT security, or a related field.
• Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, CompTIA Security+ or similar are preferred.
• Strong understanding of security frameworks and tools (SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls); experience with vulnerability scanning, penetration testing, and incident response.
• Analytical, communicative, problem-solving, and detail-oriented with proactive mindset.
• Bilingual – English and Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Monitor security systems for the organization and clients, including SIEM tools.
• Detect threats, analyze alerts, and respond to incidents with proper documentation.
• Perform vulnerability management via assessments and audits; coordinate patching with internal teams.
• Lead security investigations and prepare detailed reports with recommendations.
• Ensure compliance with regulations (GDPR, HIPAA, ISO 27001) and report security posture to stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities to automate repetitive security tasks and improve tooling.
• Promote security awareness and conduct training across teams.
• Stay updated on security trends and propose new tools/strategies to improve security.
