Job description

O’Hanlon Paving's Paving crews (Operators & Labourers) are growing and we are looking for enthusiastic & experienced Finish Roller Operator to work seasonally in a seasonal full-time capacity, in various locations throughout Edmonton. The successful candidate must be able to align with the company's core values : Commitment, Attitude and Respect.

Responsibilities :

• Assist the crews with Equipment Operator or labourer duties
• Perform a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labour and use of hands and tools
• Safe operation of equipment such as Wobbly, Roller operators or packers
• Work with minimal supervision
• Perform daily safety and maintenance checks
• Other duties as required

Qualifications :

• 2 years experience in operation of construction related equipment such as wobbly, packer or finished roller will be an asset; OR
• Some labourer experience assisting crews and operating construction equipment will be an asset;
• Thorough knowledge of the safe operation of the equipment and municipal road building industry;
• Ability to work continuously for prolonged periods of time;
• Open to training & learning equipment for growth opportunity;
• Must possess a valid class 5 driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle to travel to job sites;
• High attention to detail, strong communication skills and ability to follow directions;
• Ability to work in varying weather conditions;
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment;
• Willingness and ability to work extended hours and weekends;
• Valid safety certifications.

Additional Information :

• This is a seasonal position and starts in spring of every year
• This position is eligible for over-time
• Some travel outside of Edmonton may be required
• Training will be provided for various activities
• We offer excellent wages and benefit eligibility after 3 months in which you may continue your benefits during the winter months (off season)
• Potential on call work during the winter months during snow removal and early spring sweeping season
