Job Title: Asbestos Worker – Construction (NOC Code 75110)

Wage: $32.40 per hour

Number of Positions: 2 full-time, permanent positions

Responsibilities:

1. Safely clean up chemical spills and hazardous materials, including asbestos. Remove asbestos and hazardous materials in compliance with safety regulations and procedures.
2. Assist in demolishing buildings, utilizing prying bars and other tools.
3. Sort, clean, and pile salvaged materials for proper disposal or recycling.
4. Properly package and label removed asbestos and hazardous materials for safe transport and disposal. Coordinate with supervisors regarding the disposal of hazardous materials in accordance with local regulations.
5. Operate specialized equipment used in asbestos removal and demolition activities.
6. Perform routine checks and maintenance on equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
7. Work closely with construction teams and other tradespersons to ensure effective coordination.

Requirements:

1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. 1-2 years of prior experience in asbestos removal or demolition work is preferred.
3. Ability to operate heavy machinery and tools safely.
4. Ability to lift and carry heavy materials.
5. Strong collaboration skills and ability to follow instructions.
