Job summary

Inflector Environmental Services is hiring an Asbestos Abatement Worker for full‑time work in Coquitlam, BC. The role focuses on asbestos, lead, mold, and other hazardous material abatement, with strong emphasis on safety and regulatory compliance.

You will support various abatement, demolition, and remediation projects, following company procedures and site requirements while traveling to job sites in the area. English proficiency is required, with Spanish considered an asset.

Qualifications

  • Willingness to travel to various job sites in the area.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in English; Spanish a plus.
  • Valid Canadian work authorization.

Responsibilities

  • Perform asbestos, lead, mold, and other hazardous material abatement and remediation.
  • Complete containment setup, demolition, removal, and clean‑up activities.
  • Safely use hand and power tools.
  • Handle, package, and dispose of hazardous materials and waste per regulations.
  • Follow established work procedures and safety protocols.
  • Participate in daily hazard assessments and inspections.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

About the Role

We are seeking an Asbestos Abatement Worker to join our team in Coquitlam, BC. This is a full‑time position with work primarily located in Coquitlam and surrounding areas.

You will support a variety of hazardous material abatement, demolition, and remediation projects while following all applicable health and safety regulations, company procedures, and site requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform asbestos, lead, mold, and other hazardous material abatement and remediation.
  • Complete containment setup, demolition, removal, and clean‑up activities.
  • Safely use hand and power tools.
  • Handle, package, and dispose of hazardous materials and waste in accordance with applicable regulations.
  • Follow established work procedures and safety protocols.
  • Participate in daily hazard assessments and workplace inspections.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
  • Previous construction, demolition, abatement, or remediation experience is an asset.
  • Knowledge or experience with hazardous materials abatement is an asset.
  • Willingness to travel to various job sites in the area.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in English; Spanish is an asset.
  • Valid Canadian work authorization.
  • Level 2 certification is required.
  • WHMIS and Working at Heights certification are assets.
  • Ability to obtain Secret Level Security Clearance is an asset.
Physical Requirements

This role requires the ability to:

  • Wear a respirator and Tyvek protective suit for extended periods.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs. independently.
  • Stand, walk, climb, bend, and work for extended periods.
  • Perform repetitive tasks and use hand and power tools.
  • Work in a variety of construction, demolition, and abatement environments.
  • Work in confined spaces and other challenging job‑site conditions as required.
